Disney World Food Tip #9: Why You Should Share Dessert

Everywhere you look at Walt Disney World, you will be surrounded by incredibly sweet snacks and desserts. They are inescapable on Main Street at Magic Kingdom, restaurants, Goofy’s Candy Co. at Disney Springs, and now there are even dessert cases in the resort gift shops. I joke that you cannot walk more than about 100 feet without running into something with sugar as a main ingredient.

But man oh man, you have to see those desserts! Chocolate-covered caramel apples, brownies, ice cream sundaes, Dole Whips, tropical icees, pastries, turnovers… the list just never ends.

When you write about Disney topics, people like to ask you questions. Probably the one question I get asked the most is, “We only have tickets for one day. What park should we go to?” Without hesitation, I say Magic Kingdom. Regardless of age or how much you love roller coasters, I always say the Magic Kingdom just for the experience. When people think of Disney World, what pops into their heads first is usually Cinderella Castle; adult visitors have said they cried the first time they saw it because they had waited for so long. I definitely don’t think of myself as a Disney Resort Snob, but I do enjoy staying on Disney property. When your bed is close enough to hop a bus or monorail to a theme park, or some can just walk over, then you feel like you are a part of the magic. If you ever tried to sneak food into some sort of establishment, you just might be a Cheapskate Princess! Most Walt Disney World visitors are aware that you no longer have to sneak your food into the theme parks, because the rules have changed from years past. I have a mini-anxiety attack every time we go through Security, because my dad snuck in food during every trip we made to Disney when I was a child. I call it “Post Traumatic Cheapskate Syndrome.”
