Disney Parks Seasonal Tiered Ticket Pricing: A Cheapskate Princess Guide

Disney World Tickets Tiered Seasonal prices
Updated for 2017!
So many exciting new attractions are coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2017.  Rivers of Light, Pandora – The World of AVATOR, and ‘Happily Ever After’ the new nighttime show at Magic Kingdom are just some highlights of what guests will get to experience this year at Walt Disney World.

But along with all of the fun and exciting attractions and refurbishments that are sure to add magic to your vacation, Disney also announced another ticket increase for Disney World and Disneyland theme parks. Are you thinking this is going to have a huge impact on your trip? Don’t worry! In most cases, it won’t negatively impact your budget.

For example, if you are traveling to Disney World over the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year) and you are purchasing a Magic Your Way package with resort accommodations and tickets, you are still going to be getting the value in buying that package. The more you stay, the more you play, and the less you pay.

Last year, Disney introduced new seasonal, or tiered, ticket prices. There is generally a ticket price increase every year, but for 2016, there was a significant change. The price of your one (1) day tickets is now based on the time of year you visit Disney World. Also, guests going to just the Magic Kingdom theme park, will pay more.

Understanding the New Tiered Seasonal Ticket Pricing with the 2017 Increase

Each month in the calendar year has now been divided into peak, regular and value days. If you visit the theme parks during the value dates, for example, your adult ticket price will remain at $107 for one day admission to Magic Kingdom and $99 for the other parks. The prices will increase to $115 for Magic Kingdom and $107 for the other parks during “regular dates”. While Magic Kingdom will cost $124 for “peak dates” and $119 for the other three theme parks.

This tiered structure is currently only being applied to ONE day park admission tickets.  If you are visiting Disney World for one day during the holidays, and purchasing a one day ticket, your price for that one day of admission is going to be more than if you were visiting for one day in September or February.

If you have already planned your trip and booked your package or bought park tickets for an upcoming trip, this will not affect you at all.  But all tickets do come with an expiration date now. Be sure to check your tickets when you purchase them for your expiration date.

Now, ticket prices are also increasing for multi-day tickets as well, but they will NOT, as of now, be a part of this tiered structure.

Annual passes also saw an increase with the Florida Resident Gold Passes (blackout dates) jumping up $10, and the Platinum passes (no blackout dates) increasing $30.  Also, preferred parking will increase to $40.
