You’ll Love the New Princess “Key” Handbags by Dooney & Bourke

Disney has announced a new addition to their Dooney & Bourke collection, just in time for you to spiff up your summer wardrobe. Keys are a big deal in fashion and jewelry these days, and now they are featured on a Disney Dooney along with icons representing your favorite princess characters.

Spending hundreds of dollars on a handbag definitely isn’t a cheapskate move, but taken care of properly, these totes and wallets can last 10 years or more. Sometimes bringing home an expensive souvenir, which we call a Cheapskate Princess Extravagance, pays off financially through years of use and enjoyment.

How to Get a Pineapple Dole Whip Without Any Disney Theme Park Tickets

Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom serves the famous  and ultra popular Dole Whip, a soft-serve frozen treat blended in pineapple, vanilla or swirled flavors. Disney started their long-running relationship with Dole Foods as corporate sponsors of the Enchanted Tiki Room. Even though a Dole Whip has the taste and consistency of soft-serve ice cream, this dessert actually gets its texture from ordinary food thickeners. Starting back in 2013, the original pineapple and orange Dole Whip flavors became completely dairy-free.

You can purchase the sweet treat at several other places, including Disneyland, Dole’s processing plant in Hawaii and online using this link.

Did you know you can also pick one up in Orlando without any park tickets? You’ll need to go here… [Read more…]

These Hysterical Disney Vacation Souvenirs Have Nothing to do with Disney Characters, but You’ll LOVE Them!

Souvenirs make up a big part of a Disney World vacation, and they don’t come cheap. You get a quality product, but that comes with a price. And what you purchase usually appears decorated with Mickey Mouses or some sort of Disney-themed characters.

Several souvenir locations on Disney World property carry what I think are some of THE funniest souvenirs found anywhere, and not just at Disney. Say hello to soaps by the Goat Mountain Soap Company. The company name alone is comical. The names of the soaps are even funnier. [Read more…]

Disney World Extravagance: Frozen in a Bottle Perfume

Back in February of 2017, Disney started selling a product in Epcot’s Norway pavilion called “Frozen in a Bottle.” This perfume was inspired by the animated film and was created by Norway native Geir Ness. Mr. Ness is WDW-famous for selling another Norway-inspired perfume called Laila eau de parfum, which was named for his mother. He said of Frozen,“It’s a scent for people who love the movie, first of all, the nature of the movie. The scent is to capture the nature of the movie and not just the princesses.”

Is this a perfume purchase you’ll need to make while on vacation?

Have your kids ever asked you what EPCOT stands for? Quick history lesson: EPCOT is an acronym for Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow, a utopian community of the future planned by Walt Disney. Epcot is divided into two sections: Future World has eight pavilions and World Showcase is themed with 11 world nations. The park opened in 1982, and Epcot is ranked the third-most-visited theme park in North America and the sixth-most-visited theme park in the world. Not only is it a busy place, but it’s massive in terms of the space it occupies.

Set on 300 acres, this park is more than twice the size of Magic Kingdom. Epcot is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, primarily technological innovation and international culture. Those of us old enough to remember World’s Fairs sometimes think of this Disney park like a permanent World’s Fair. You’ll see a variety of attractions and entertainment spanning the web and the globe.

There are several reasons to stay off-property at Disney World, one of the most important of which can be a lower cost, but if you are traveling with children, paying more money to be closer to the action and surrounded by all the “Disney Magic” of the resorts may be more desirable than saving money.
