Do It Yourself Minnie Mouse Manicure Instructions for a Cheapskate Disney Princess

Free manicure Instructions from Disney World

How many of you have scheduled a spa appointment during your Disney vacation? This is a huge dream of mine (once my kids are grown and out of the house, in those years before grandkids beg “Glam Ma” to take them to the Magic Kingdom) to spend the day at a Disney Spa. Ah, the pampering, the relaxation, the Disney MAGIC of a different type than theme parks and roller coasters. I just don’t see it happening anytime soon, so I am left to do my own Disney nails in my living room.

While all Disney princesses sure love their manicures, it’s the Cheapskate Princess that doesn’t want to spend a fortune getting one. Lucky for us, Senses Spa, now with two locations on the WDW property, created  instructions on how to do your own Minnie Mouse manicure right in your own home.

Move Over Disney Dooney & Bourke: Make Way for the Harveys Disney Seatbeltbag

Disney Seatbeltbags

Updated for 2018!

If you have been a Disney gift shop within the last year, you may have noticed a new type of upper level purse found very close to the Disney Dooney & Bourke handbags. In what for years used to be JUST the D&B handbag section, there are now other purses options. A company called “Harveys” was recently given the opportunity to create original artwork for their Harveys for Disney Couture Good vs. Evil Princess Collection. The artwork for each bag was hand-sketched, painted with watercolors and then digitized.

While these styles are no longer for sale in 2018, you can get an idea regarding how much you’ll pay for Dooney and Bourke Handbags. And if you are heart broken you will be unable to make a purchase, I would definitely try eBay to see if someone has a gently used version for sale.

Once you see them, you’ll want one, but can you afford it? [Read more…]

What You Can NOT Wear to Disney Theme Parks: A Cheapskate Princess Guide

what can't you wear in a Disney park, what oiutfits are banned from Disny theme parks, can adults wear costumes to Disney World, can adults dress as Disney Characters at Disney World

Updated for 2018!

Ever see the ladies walking down Main Street, U.S.A., in pretty party dresses and high heels? I am actually amazed anyone can look somewhat presentable in the Disney parks. My family seems to arrive in Orlando when it’s hot, humid, raining, just finished flooding or about to pour. My “Disney uniform,” if you will, is a t-shirt and shorts, with my hair usually looking so un-Disney Princess-like that I wear a baseball hat. Not one of those flowery girly hats that accessorizes the matching mini-skirt and sparkly top I didn’t wear, but just a sweaty Mickey baseball hat. The hat is sweaty because I am sweaty.

While it’s easy for some princesses to pick out cute vacation outfits, have you ever thought about what you cannot wear to a Disney park?  Yes, Cinderella, there are a set of rules, but it’s really just a matter of common sense. [Read more…]

hot tub at Disney's Senses spa

Updated for 2018!

Ok, cheap is a relative term, but we’ll get to that in a minute.

If you ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for four months so you could splurge on an activity on vacation, then you just might be a Cheapskate Princess. If you have seen the Disney Princesses’ hair, nails and skin lately, you know they MUST be making trip to the spa. That’s what we cheapskates call an extravagance, when you pay a little more for something than you might pay at home. When you are dealing in Disney dollars, this might actually be a lot more money. If you have taken your family of five adults to a character meal, then you know of which I speak.

Let’s face it ladies; we likes spas. We enjoy feeling pampered and special, and who takes care of our vacation needs better than Disney? We like to feel like Disney Princesses.

Let’s talk spas, shall we… [Read more…]
