The Beach Club Gulf

September, 2016

The Beach Princess headed down Fort Morgan Road in Alabama to an amazing resort called The Beach Club. While I knew it had been built by the same creators of my personal favorite beach get-a-ways, Caribe and Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, and is managed by Spectrum Resorts, the same company than manages Turquoise Place, this was our first trip to “The Club.” [Read more…]

Beach Princess: Saving Money on a Girls’ Weekend!

Caribe ResortJune 2016

Right next to the Pass Bridge in Orange Beach, Alabama, is a massive resort complex called Caribe the Resort. Located on over 30 acres of a peninsula, Caribe features more amenities than any resorts in the area, including 40,000 sq. feet of pools, lazy river, tennis courts, saunas and steam rooms, game room, and private beach cart service. There is a five-star restaurant next door called Cobalt. This beach getaway is absolutely amazing, and it’s also very expensive. Early summer rates per night start around $500-$600 and only go up from there.

Yikes.

Beach Princess: Upgrading at the IP Casino

February 2016

We live just a short two-hour drive from Biloxi, Mississippi. My husband grew up on the Mississippi coast, so it’s nice to get back to his roots when we have a chance. I couldn’t win a coin toss, so gambling doesn’t have a huge draw for me personally, but I sure do love staying in the casino resorts and eating at casino buffets. Food is a big draw to people visiting Orlando, but it’s just as important to people vacationing in other parts of the south. [Read more…]

Despite the fact that Orlando is probably my all time favorite city to visit, my family lives a nine-hour drive away. What is a princess to do when she can’t make it halfway down the state of Florida? We recently took a short two-hour drive over to Biloxi, Mississippi, to see what we could find, looking for bargain vacation prices of course!

Beach Princess: A Martinique Thanksgiving in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Gulf Shores, Alabama

November, 2015

I don’t mind telling you, as much as I love a Disney vacation, sometimes it’s really hard to psyche myself up for a big vacation week,  knowing we face a nine-hour drive to Orlando and huge crowd levels once we arrive. My husband and I are both public school teachers. Taking time off of school for travel during a time when many people are still in school and at work, say the week before or after Thanksgiving, can be next to impossible. Between football games and upcoming final exams, this is not a great time for a teacher to miss classes. So that leaves us having time off of work when many, many other people travel to Disney World.
