Right next to the Pass Bridge in Orange Beach, Alabama, is a massive resort complex called Caribe the Resort. Located on over 30 acres of a peninsula, Caribe features more amenities than any resorts in the area, including 40,000 sq. feet of pools, lazy river, tennis courts, saunas and steam rooms, game room, and private beach cart service. There is a five-star restaurant next door called Cobalt. This beach getaway is absolutely amazing, and it’s also very expensive. Early summer rates per night start around $500-$600 and only go up from there.
Yikes.

2016 Beach Princess: Condo Rental at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama
Caribe is absolutely fantastic, one of the best places to stay on the Alabama coast.
Water, water everywhere…
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets…
Speaking of water, the pools are so amazing.
2016 Beach Princess: Splurging on the Upgrade at the IP Casino
Our unit had two bedrooms and a pull out couch. I didn’t want someone to be stuck sleeping in the living room, so I grabbed the walk in closet in the master bedroom and made myself a mini bedroom. The couch cushions were not the greatest in terms of catching some restful sleep, so I’m looking into a blow up bed for next year, but for this year, the important thing was that everyone had their own bedroom space.
We brought snacks for the group to share, placing them on a community counter. That’s the breakfast of champions right there!
If you want to save money on lunch when hanging out by the pool, bring something with you in an insulated bag.
2016 Beach Princess: ‘Bama Spring Break Staycation
But cold sandwiches and chips only take you so far. We headed over to Cobalt for some yummy meals and the occasional dessert to share. Arrive between three and five p.m. for some half priced appetizers.
So if beach prices are keeping you from having fun in the Alabama gulf coast sun, grab some friends and split the price!
We’re already planning next year. Love ya, ladies, and thanks for the excellent company!
