February 2016
We live just a short two-hour drive from Biloxi, Mississippi. My husband grew up on the Mississippi coast, so it’s nice to get back to his roots when we have a chance. I couldn’t win a coin toss, so gambling doesn’t have a huge draw for me personally, but I sure do love staying in the casino resorts and eating at casino buffets. Food is a big draw to people visiting Orlando, but it’s just as important to people vacationing in other parts of the south.
One of our favorite occasional Biloxi hangouts is the IP Casino.
The IP Casino in Biloxi frequently offers free hotel rooms during certain dates each month. The free hotel room is just a standard room, but it’s really nice and very clean.
The main point of our February trip to Biloxi was to pay for a room upgrade from the free room. The suite upgrade is only an option we can utilize on weekdays, which is tough with our regular work schedule. Mardi Gras holidays on Monday and Tuesday offered the perfect solution, and the suite certainly did not disappoint.
The living/dining/bar area featured blue coloring, from light to deep, to offset the dark wood paneling. The carpet is a deep shag, so I just took my shoes off and tip toed through the rooms…
If we’d had any guests, they could have used a 1/2 bathroom larger than my closet at home.
The bedroom had a king size bed and a bathroom definitely fit for a king. Check out the tub!!
The jet tub is my favorite spot in the entire IP casino.
Sundown at the IP offers fantastic views of the Mississippi coast plus the lighting changes in your suite.
You can’t beat the view from the 30th floor, day or night. That building casts a long shadow…
Another nice freebie is the occasional t-shirt you get on specific days each month by earning a certain number of points with your player’s card. I mean, what’s better than bacon? How about a free IP Baconfest t-shirt?!
We did some exploring on this visit to Biloxi, just looking for something to do beyond the gaming floor.
The Golden Nugget Casino has a nice marina area.
They have a nice Starbucks inside.
The newest casino to open on the Biloxi coast is the Scarlet Pearl.
I love casino buffets, and the brunch buffet at the Pearl was fantastic.
Biloxi has a lot to offer besides slot machines and Poker tables, and if you are on the coast, you should stop by the IP casino. Use this link for more of our Mississippi adventures.
