The Beach Princess headed down Fort Morgan Road in Alabama to an amazing resort called The Beach Club. While I knew it had been built by the same creators of my personal favorite beach get-a-ways, Caribe and Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, and is managed by Spectrum Resorts, the same company than manages Turquoise Place, this was our first trip to “The Club.”
Our August weekend was hot, like one would expect for late summer in costal Alabama, but simply spectacular.
Amazing Condo Rental at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama
Located 10 miles, or about a 15- 20 minute drive down the Fort Morgan Peninsula, The Beach Club Resort & Spa occupies over 86 acres, consisting of private beaches, gulf-front condominiums, cottages by lakes, and tons of amenities you expect with a full-service resort. When you see a large turquoise water tower, you’ll know you have arrived.
You can choose a condominium in one of four luxury resort Gulf-front towers, with layouts from one to five bedrooms, or choose lakeside cottages that deliver all the conveniences of a home complete but offer private parking, in two to five bedroom floor plans with well-appointed furnishings.
There are a lot of activities at the resort to keep you busy.

Hang in the Condo
We had a charmingly decorated two bedroom with 2.5 baths on the second floor. All views here are overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Take a dip!
Time for a swim! There are four outdoor pools, not including the Club House pool, plus numerous kiddie pools and hot tubs.
beach
The main draw at this resort will obviously be the Gulf of Mexico.

Enjoy the Club House
The Club House, situated in-between the four towers, offers numerous activities for the whole family, including a full service restaurant and spa, a game room with free games, work out facilities, plus an outdoor pool and a stunning indoor pool.
Food at the Gulfside Grill by the outdoor pool is not unreasonably priced, for vacation food.
In all the condos we have ever stayed in along the Alabama coast, this has to be the nicest indoor pool I have ever seen.
The Beach Club uses wrist bands to access the Club House area for activities. They use the same RDIF technology that Disney World uses with their Magic Bands.
You can rent a cabana for the day, probably more desirable in the brutal summer heat, which is a great way to keep the family together for long days at the pool. You get lots of perks:
- personal mini refrigerator stocked with waters and fruit
- poolside service to have food delivered directly to you in your cabana.
- dine at your own private table and chairs
- ceiling fan
- three padded loungers reserved just for you.
Cabanas rent for $150 a day. If you rent through Spectrum Resorts, their guests receive a 10% discount on cabana rentals and advance reservations.
The Club House is beautiful at night as well.

Meals
We cooked several of our meals in the condo, I mean, can you beat this view? I’m traveling with an awesome cook too.
We also ate at the Village Hideaway, a dining spot at the same building where you checked in and before you drove through the guard gate. Here, you can order something hot off the grill or a made to order salad or wrap. They have lots more too including:
- homemade pizzas
- an extensive collection of craft beers, wine selections and specialty cocktails
- 11 flat screens to all sorts of sports entertainment
- HD golf simulator
- kids/adults arcade
- outside dining available on a nice wooden terrace area
The Village Hideaway is open to the public so you don’t have to stay at The Beach Club to enjoy eating and playing here. We went after summer season was over but before Labor Day so at their 11 o’clock opening, we had the entire place to ourselves.
For lunch one day, we drove down the beach to Moe’s BBQ in Orange Beach. They have a nice outdoor area for musicians that would be fun in cooler weather.
Moe’s Original BBQ is a “Southern soul food revival” where great food is served in a relaxed atmosphere. In spring of 2006, Moe’s partnered up with Mark “Pinto” White to test the BBQ waters of Alabama. Across the street from the Gulf of Mexico, this country kitchen offers inside seating for 40 and plus 20 more outside on the deck. All smoking is done on homemade barrel pits which are rolled into the attached smokehouse.

Walking Trails
There is a charming walking trail through the lakeside rental cottages. It’s not very far, but it was enough for 30 minutes worth of entertainment. We saw turtles and sat by the fountain after the mid-day sun had gone down.
Walking by the Beach
There are lots of sidewalks for walking in front of the beach yet not actually on the sand. This would be much more pleasant in cooler temperatures, but for walkers, it’s pretty nice. You can walk from the sidewalks around the buildings to the parking lot and back.
The sidewalks are lit at night.
