The Beach Princess: Coastal Mississippi Dining at Costa Cuchina in Biloxi

Beach Princess 2017

Costa Cuchina is a restaurant in Biloxi Mississippi in the heart of the IP Casino Resort and Spa. The flavors of Italy will be calling you, with an extensive menu and delicious Italian fare.

While the buffet upstairs can be crowded with a lengthy wait, especially in the weekends, Costa Cuchina has always had excellent availability right at opening, so arrive at five p.m. if you don’t have a reservation. They also take reservations by phone if you can make plans ahead of time. [Read more…]

Disney Vacation Must Have Snack: Joffrey’s

I seem to snack a lot on vacation. Sweet treats and snacks may not be all that healthy for you, but they cost less money, take up space as you wait for a larger real or buffet, and they just taste GREAT. Joffrey’s has started to become one of my favorites spots to pick up a snack, and Disney is adding more locations to make this easier.

My wallet may not be saying thanks but the old taste buds sure are.   [Read more…]

The Beach Princess: Junior Executive Suite at the IP Resort and Spa in Biloxi

I’ve written extensively about how amazing the super suite is at the IP casino, but what can you do when these suites are all reserved? Lots of concerts are held at the IP, so unless you’ve made a prior reservation, chances are, you may not get a room key even if you don’t mind paying the upgrade fee.

Well, let me introduce you to the Jr Suite, which could actually be more in your price range. [Read more…]

Must Buy Souvenir? Disney Character-themed Beach Towels

Updated for 2017!

My son bought a beach towel years ago on a Disney vacation. I thought he was crazy, and two years after the purchase, he brought it to me, deciding he was too old to use it. Ah, the trials of pre-teen boys. But now I was the owner of a Disney towel, with a cute Mickey Mouse front and center.

I’ve been using it for at least three years now, off and on for special swimming occasions, and it’s still in great shape. The vidid colors have hardly faded, and the towel is still a quality item.

I wouldn’t describe this as a cheap item. Should you purchase a beach towel on your next Orlando vacation?  [Read more…]

Christmas holidays can be an absolute zoo at Walt Disney World, between larger crowds to longer waits to traffic jams. But the Christmas decorations are absolutely fantastic. You can stay at one of the resorts, and you can also “Resort Hop,” but either way you are in for a real treat.

2016 Beach Princess: Looking for a Hotel Room on the Mississippi Coast? Look to the IP!

February 2016

I suggest visiting Biloxi, Mississippi to lots of friends and family. While not a big fan of the costal water, I do really enjoy the entertainment and dining options we find in Biloxi, and one of our main hang outs is the IP. If you are looking for a pace to stay for the weekend, check out the IP. [Read more…]

2016 Beach Princess: Need to Entertain Teens at the Beach? Take ’em Fishing!

caribe-the-resort-orange-beach-alabamaOctober 2016

We are not a family of fishermen. I’ve grown up on lower Alabama lakes and rivers, Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, and I can count on one hand the number of times I have held a fishing pole in my hands. Fisherwoman I am not; vacation gal, I certainly am. Our family has stayed at Caribe the Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama, numerous times, and never once did I think about fishing.

But my sons and my husband took some poles on a short October Caribe trip in 2016, and this turned out to be fantastic entertainment for the teens. [Read more…]
