Sometimes we take vacations and visit places we soon realize we’ll visit again. There are beaches, hotels, and believe it or not, even stores that just stay in your memory for all time. Goofy’s Candy Co. is one of many super adorable shops in Disney Springs which, with all their renovations and new additions, is fast becoming an incredible Disney-themed shopping and dining location you have to visit while in Orlando.
Goofy’s is certainly not new. This sweet shop has looked mostly the same for as long as I can remember, and yet it remains an absolute must do for any shopping trip to Disney Springs.
Grab your wallet and be prepared to make a yummy purchase!
Goofy’s Candy Co. is a store of absolutely EPIC proportions where candy is just the beginning. Goofy’s has a wide variety of snacks/desserts, in all the most mouth-watering colors, with a delightful Disney spin. Cupcakes, rice crispy treats, pecan clusters, slushy drinks, caramel apples, taffy, cookies, fudge, jelly beans, lollipops, chocolate-covered marshmallows, cake pops, and I’ve even seen pastries there on occasion.
Taking a walk inside Goofy’s is a treat in itself, with the sweet smell of sugar hanging in the air that’s almost intoxicating. One of the funniest things I read once on Google reviews was from a shopper, “The smell permeated my clothing and I was forced to burn them.” They’re not kidding: it seriously smells like sugar in here. Children are squealing, touching the display cases, and watching Cast Members put together caramel apples.
It’s like heaven for dessert fans.
Think of almost any treat you can imagine, and on just about everything but ice cream, Goofy’s has you covered. Goofy is clearly your main man here; his face is as prevalent as the sugar.
Disney Springs requires no money to visit. You’ll most likely spend money while there, but parking is free and so is window shopping. If you’ve been saving for your upcoming vacation for a long time, I hope you saved room for dessert.
Head over to the Marketplace section of Disney Springs. Goofy’s is located next door to Rainforest Cafe by the new bridge they completed in 2016. The phone number is 407- 939-6244 if you get lost, and the hours are 10 pm to 11 pm, so you have plenty of time to stop in.
Bright colors abound and you’ll find Disney characters on the packaging. You won’t realize you were in need of a snack until you get there, and suddenly you’re hungry.
A Disney vacation is expensive, but when you compare a $4 snack with a $40 meal, Disney snacks and candy are fairly inexpensive, and portions are mid-sized, perfect for your own treat or one to share with a friend. I regularly split cherry danishes here when they were available with my daughter, bringing the total to $2.50 each, and a $5.00 cupcakes splits down the middle just fine.
There are pre-packaged candies to purchase, plus display cases of delectable items, all ready to go home with you packed in a to-go box.
They have seating in an areas that was formerly used for birthday parties. This is a nice place to get out of the sun during the hot Orlando summers, and while there, grab yourself a snack.
There are two main sections to the store.
The Goofy’s Glaciers section offers frozen drinks, which are a lot like a Slush Puppy or an Icee, with seven pretty standard flavors to choose from. These haven’t changed in a long time, but they could without notice.
