Disney World Extravagance: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour

Updated for 2017!

You’re already paying for Disney park tickets. Do you really need to spend more money on something to do once you get in the parks. Sometimes, special occasions call for special events. If you are or know a really big fan of the creator of the most visited travel destination on the planet, then maybe you’re perfect for the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour.

Prices aren’t cheap, but they’re not as crazy as you might think.

What is it?

On the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour, you’ll step back in time for a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse into some of the secrets behind the Disney magic. A knowledgeable Cast Member will guide you through the Magic Kingdom, sharing little-known facts about Walt’s upbringing in Marceline, Missouri. They’ll also provide insider information about the design and operation of several classic attractions, including those inspired by Walt’s participation in the 1964 World’s Fair.

This three-hour walking tour is designed to help you discover how key events in Walt Disney’s life inspired the creation of Magic Kingdom park.

Who might like it?

The tour provides an insider’s look at the history of Magic Kingdom park, so it’s perfect for the avid Disney fan. It’s also ideal for anyone looking for a shorter and less expensive option to the Keys to the Kingdom tour, which is $99.00 and last five hours. (2017 pricing)

Guests as young as 12 years of age may attend the tour, but given the length, it may be more suited for adults.

Wear your comfortable shoes, because there will be periods of walking and standing, which could be another reason it’s a tour best suited for older people.

Wear some of this too; it smells fantastic!

Should You Go?

That answer depends on your financial status.

If this is a first trip or a trip with small children, I would not recommend this or any other tour. But if you are looking or something different, something out of your vacation ordinary, this tour is less expensive than several other special event ticket options.

Three hours is a long time, but for fans of Walt Disney himself, you may decide that’s a low price to pay to learn about the legend right on his home turf.

Here’s information on several more ticket events.

This one doesn’t require park tickets.
