With so much going on at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, it’s is hard to keep up, even for seasoned vets of the happiest place on earth. Never fear, the new weekly feature Disney’s Cheapskate Princess News Around the Mouse will post each Monday to keep you up to date and provide you information you need to know to make the most of your Disney vacation. Click here to download the whole edition to view on your computer, tablet or smart phone OR click here to watch the Around the Mouse by video.
This week’s News Around the Mouse features Fastpass+ Enhancements, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dates and the Disney After Dark event opening. Be sure you glance through all the updates to see how your future Disney Vacation could be impacted and what new and magical attractions will be available for your stay at Walt Disney World Resorts! My favorite “what’s new” is the FastPass+ enhancements.
Last week Disney enhanced the the Fastpass+ system allowing guests to reserve times for attractions within the parks. These enhancements making it easier for guests to select desired attractions and times include:
- Guests will now be able to choose individual FastPass+ experiences and times, and will no longer need to make all selections for the same day at the same time.
- While Guests continue to be able to select up to three experiences in advance, they now will be able to book fewer than three selections, if desired.
In addition, Guests who have used their first three FastPass+ selections will now be able to make an additional FastPass+ selection via the My Disney Experience mobile app, in addition to in-park kiosks. This is my personal favorite as this means NO times in lines at the kiosk!
Once they’ve used the fourth, Guests will be able to select another, and so on.
These enhancements give guests more flexibility in the selection process. My favorite enhancement is being able to add additional Fastpass+ selections after the first three via the mobile app rather than going to a park kiosk and waiting in line! Time is money when you are at the parks and being able to change yourself when you want is a huge time saver from finding a park kiosk and waiting in line. The kiosks will still be around for those who do not have the FREE My Disney Experience mobile app. My advice, make sure you download the app before your visit!
