For those vacation planners looking for a different activity for an upcoming trip, Disney World has announced a brand new opportunity to see Wishes fireworks while enjoying yummy snacks and drinks.
What is it?
Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise lets you see the fireworks show Wishes from a completely new viewing location. You’ll be on board one of Disney’s ferrys, hence the name Ferrytale Wishes, and while there, you’ll be enjoying all sorts of fabulous food and drinks.
When do you board the ferry?
Guests will board the ferry at the Ticket & Transportation Ferryboat Dock one hour prior to Wishes Nighttime Spectacular.
What foods will served?
- “The Grand” key lime tart
- pineapple upside down cake from the chefs at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- spiced flourless chocolate cake from the pastry kitchen at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- “Main Street” Mickey Balloon Tarts
- mini “fireworks” cupcakes
- Cinderella’s Sugar Slipper with Orange Financier
- no-sugar-added Florida mango panna cotta
- assorted fruits and cheeses.
You can also toast your evening with specialty alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) beverages in souvenir glow glasses.
This is a special ticket event with limited availability, so you will need to purchase tickets in advance.
The cost is $99 for guests over the age of nine and $69 for children ages 3 to 9. These prices include taxes and your gratuity.
Is it worth the money?
The dessert parties inside the parks have been extremely popular.
I think it’s important to realize that no adult will really eat $100 worth of dessert. About the point I hit $10 worth of sugar, I would probably develop a stomach ache.
What you are paying for is an event, and special Disney events cost money. Imagine a proposal aboard the ferry, or celebrating a birthday, or an anniversary, and compare that cost that with concert or sporting event tickets, and while not a deal, it certainly makes the cost seem more justifiable.

When is Wishes not “Wishes?”
During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very-Merry-Christmas Party nights, the fireworks display will be Happy HalloWishes or Holiday Wishes—Celebrate the Spirit of the Season. On these nights, you will not see the traditional “Wishes” Nighttime Spectacular.
