When a Cheapskate Princess spends more than she should for something she really wants, we call that a splurge. There may be no bigger vacation splurge than Disney World Deluxe accommodations, which can easily run into the thousands per night. When I heard about the new Four Seasons Resort scheduled to open in August in Orlando, I just had to check it out. Not because I had ever stayed at a Four Seasons hotel (being a cheapskate, I have not) but rather I knew I would want to just because of the name. The Four Seasons. It’s a legend in the hotel industry, with the name alone implying luxury, tastefully appointed furnishings, and of course, budget-busting amenities.
I’ve been wanting to use the term “tastefully appointed” in a Disney article for years, and once you see the photos from four seasons.com, you will instantly agree with me why this phrase is fitting. My Disney Visa was crying in pain before I even finished looking through the vast photo assortment, way before I even priced the first room.
Another name that screams “pricey” is the Disney community “Golden Oaks.” Golden Oaks – so expensive, it should be written in yellow, but I went with green, because yellow is too light to see. Golden Oaks; filled with multi-million dollar single family homes on Walt Disney World property. The Four Seasons Resort Orlando is located right there, the neighborhood of my Lotto-winning dreams. This resort is luxurious enough to put the fantasies of staying at Cinderella Castle Suite right out of your head.
Reflecting the Spanish Revival architecture of Florida’s golden age and located lakeside, Four Seasons Orlando Resort offers 444 spacious guest rooms, 68 of which are suites. From the lounge chairs on your balcony or terrace, you will enjoy serene views of the Tom Fazio-designed championship Four Seasons Golf Course. The mere fact that I don’t recognize the name “Tom Fazio” tells me it’s expensive. For kids, you have water slides, a lazy river, climbing wall and activity centers on an island just for them. For adults, you have golf, couples Spa massages, cocktails by the adults-only pool, and evenings in the rooftop steakhouse watching two theme park fireworks shows. Impressive, eh?!
You’ll want to see the photos and view the (you can’t say laundry list when discussing luxury) amazing list of amenities before you see the price. And then your Disney Visa will be squealing as well.
Just what do you get when you splurge at the Four Seasons Orlando?

So what do you think? Would you pay these prices for the ultimate in Disney luxury?
I used the word “ultimate” because while Aulani in Hawaii is certainly luxurious, you have to actually fly there, and all the perks of Walt Disney World are not available in Hawaii. I’m sticking with the ultimate in Disney luxury can be found at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. The question is now, can you afford the ultimate Disney Splurge?
