Updated for 2017!
One of my all time favorite places to shop at Disney World is Basin. There is a large location at Disney Springs and a smaller store in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. When you think of soap, you don’t necessarily think of a vacation, but Basin sells soaps that will make you look back on your last Disney trip with fond memories. And besides the smell and healthy production practices, the best part about their soaps are the low prices. Well, low compared to many Disney souvenirs anyway…
Basin is a luxury bath and body products store. They carry a wide selection of chemical-free soaps, all designed to make you feel pampered. Basin offers exclusive product lines of fragrances and solid perfumes, spa waxes, moisturizers, and a whole lot more.
Basin is not one of your regular Disney merchandising stores, filled with t-shirts and images of Disney characters, although there is a huge soap-Mickey in the center of the store and Mickey-themed soaps for sale. Most of their Christmas soaps don’t even have Mickey’s on them.
But look how cute!
Basin soaps make good Christmas gifts, or gifts for any time of the year really, because you can feel safe with their products.
Basin merchandise does not contain any parabens, a substance that mimics estrogen. Products containing synthetic estrogen have been linked to increases in cancer, male infertility, and changes in children’s developing reproductive systems.
Basin products also contain no alcohol to dry your skin, nor do they contain mineral oils, which can clog pores and slow the skin’s ability to rid itself of toxins.
And for the animal-lovers, Basin products are never tested on any animals. Now that you are free of parabens, alcohol and mineral oils, you can relax and enjoy your holiday shopping!
Not only are these soaps cute and safely made, but they are only $5.99 per 100 grams. They may not be what you pay for your usually soaps at home, but in terms of souvenir costs on a Disney vacation, $5.99 is practically free.
And if you just want a non-Christmas themed gift, there are TONS of soaps with Mickeys throughout the store.
Make sure to stop by Disney Springs during your vacation, because it’s hard to beat a quality gift for $5.99.
