The Price

The prices for this event have risen drastically through the years. In 2016, the price was $53.24 for ages 10 and over and $31.94 ages 3-9 with tax included. Before that, the cost was $25.55 for guests ages 10 and over and $13.94 for guests ages 3 – 9. When prices went up by double, new foods and drinks were added, and the table decorations were upgraded, but many commenters said those small changes hardly justified such a price hike.

Admission in 2017 is $79 per adult and $47 per child (ages 3 to 9) including tax. Gratuity is not included or required.

But despite being about food, the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace really is all about the experience and the location. I mean, what adult can really eat over $75 in dessert at one sitting? I think this would be a fabulous event for any Disney Princess to celebrate a birthday or an anniversary. What a spot to get engaged!

Getting a reservation may be the snag in your party plan, so make sure to call at 180 days out, and call as early in the day as you can.

Here, you can see the tables as they begin to set up for the night.

Why You Might Want the Extravagance

Happily Ever After fireworks debuted in 2017. This 18-minute show features more lasers, lights and projections than any other fireworks spectacular in the history of Magic Kingdom park. Cinderella Castle is brought to life by fireworks and rooftop pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art projections, and lasers and immersive lighting.

The castle projections are very important to the overall theme of the show, with 17 movie clips projected onto the castle. That’s like a movie a minute. You won’t have the same experience of just fireworks and music, like you could with Wishes, without having a front of the castle viewpoint. And that’s hard to come by without being surrounded by thousands of people, elbow to elbow, all trying to see the same shown from Main Street or gathered around the hub.

50 people versus thousands.

This dessert party is certainly not a must do. But if you are looking for a special experience or trying to add some extravagance to your next Disney trip, this could be what you are looking for. Sometimes paying more for a splurge is worth it, and at Tommorowland Terrace, you are paying to rent a prime location for better views of the show. And a spectacular dessert feast – you are paying for that too!

Making Reservations

A cancellation policy applies and will result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Cast Members will explain the specific policies related to this facility when you make your reservation booking, and if they forget, ask them about it.

You must have Magic Kingdom park admission to attend this event, which is not included in the price of the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace.

Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit.

Call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 at least two weeks prior to arrival to reconfirm the fireworks schedule.

You can check availability (using this link) on the Disney website, using a system that looks like this:

Information To Know

Before: On rare occasions, evening fireworks may be rescheduled or canceled. Please consult the entertainment schedule or call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 at least two weeks prior to arrival to reconfirm showtime.

The Time: The nightly Dessert Party celebration begins one hour before the start of Happily Ever After, which is currently 8 p.m., and the party goes on for about 30 minutes after the fireworks begin, so it should end about 9:30 p.m.

Arrival: Check the fireworks schedule again upon arrival at Magic Kingdom. After reconfirming the showtime, you should arrive at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant for check-in 60 minutes prior. Again that’s about 8 p.m.

Event Party Identification—issued at check-in—is required when participating in the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace.

The Weather: If bad weather pops up, fireworks may be changed or canceled without prior notice. The Tomorrowland Terrace covered patio area is utilized rain or shine, so while your snacks will be set, rain may negate the fireworks. Bad weather is obviously beyond Disney’s control.

Pictures: A PhotoPass photographer should be in attendance, so take advantage if you use this service and get some great pictures with the fireworks in the background.

The Disney Dining Plan is not accepted.

Several of our readers stopped by to tell us about their experiences.

Elizabeth, “I did this a few years ago, and–though expensive for “just dessert”–it was SO worth the money. Tinkerbell flew right over our heads! Absolutely one of my best WDW experiences ever.”

Linda, “We did this on our most recent trip. Since I have a real “affection” for sweets, I have to say that these were probably the most delicious I’ve ever had at Disney World. However, as delicious as they were, there is NO WAY you can possibly eat enough to get your money’s worth. A few bites of each is about all I was able to handle as they are just so rich.

But I’m definitely glad we did it, and will probably do it (or the one over at Illuminations in Epcot) again. Other than price, there was another negative. A lot of very tall adults crowded the railing when the castle projection began and I noticed one young boy of about 8 standing back because he couldn’t see. (I myself, being rather short was not able to have a great view either as I could not get near the rail either). But for the fireworks, it didn’t matter, since they were high in the sky.

Is this something for my family? No, because I am too cheap to pay almost $400 for five people to eat dessert. With some Disney events, it’s not so much about the price as it is paying for the experience. And with only about 50 people in attendance along with you, this seems like one of those events not many people actually get to enjoy each night. Paying more for dessert than you would at home to enjoy the event is called a Disney Experience.

If I can ever plan a trip to Orlando without any of my kids, this is something I totally would to splurge on.
